What is natural?

The dictionary definition for natural is ‘existing in or derived from nature.’ Our entire product range is made from natural non GMO ingredients with no additives, no colours or flavours. Food of the earth!!!

How is your product preservative free?

We have invested in some of the best food processing equipment available in the world today and have partners & employees who have international understanding and experience in the manufacture of clean label, preservative free food that is purposefully designed for your young ones. Shelf stable, clean label baby food has been available in international markets for generations now.

Our products are 100% preservative free, shelf stable and safe to eat for a minimum of 9 months from date of manufacture.  We go to a lot of trouble to prove that this is proven scientifically. We use a specially designed high barrier cup that has multiple layers that prevents oxygen and water vapor from entering the cup and thereby prevent microbes and bacteria from growing. This packaging system is somewhat similar to the century old canning process that preserves food for much longer periods without use of any chemical additives.Equally important is the fact that the  product is thermally processed to ensure the contents of the container are commercially sterile. This process is very carefully monitored & controlled.

It can be stored at room temperature until you open the pack. Once opened it needs to be refrigerated and consumed within 72 hours.

What measures do you take to ensure your baby foods are high quality?

Mother Nurture does lots of research to find the best quality and great tasting ingredients to fill our cups. We have a vendor assurance system ensuring our suppliers meet our high standards for quality ingredients and our facility meets strict manufacturing standards. We hold each and every one of our suppliers and ourselves to these strict standards, so you can be confident we offer you and your little one a high quality baby food.

What are the “Safety Standard” logos, and why are they important?

At Mother Nurture, food safety and hygiene is very important. As a very proud Indian based food manufacturer, Mother Nurture must be FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) registered. This federal government run authority provides a legislative framework for the processing and handling of food products within India. We are pleased to say that Mother Nurture not only meets these standards, but exceeds them and we are working continuously to further enhance our standards against international benchmarks. Our local and international suppliers follow strict regulations and are certificated to the highest International standards. They conform to what is known as the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI-see below links for further details online) that includes, among many requirements, independent 3rd party audits to monitor their performance and ensures their facilities and input materials are of the highest possible standard. Essentially, they do what they say they are going to do!

Describe the texture of the baby food?

Our Stage 1 baby foods are for babies 4+ months. They are a single fruit or vegetable puree with a smooth texture. Our Stage 2 baby foods are for babies who are 6+ months and are ready to explore more flavours. The texture is smooth and includes 2 or more fruit or vegetable ingredients. Our Stage 3 baby foods are for babies 9+ months. They contain multiple ingredients with a mash texture, emulating what would be given at your family dining table.

We advise following your paediatrician’s recommendations about introducing a new food stage or ingredient into your little one’s diet.

How much food should my little one eat?

At Mother Nurture, we always recommend checking with your child’s paediatrician if you have any concerns about how much your baby is eating. Most of the time, babies will eat when they’re hungry and stop when they’re full. Then there are some babies who will eat more than others. Food intake can vary day to day and baby to baby. The best thing is to trust your baby’s signals and check with your paediatrician if you’re concerned.

How do I heat up Mother Nurture baby food cups?

To warm the baby food, place the full cup or portion you wish to heat in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. Stir well and always test the food to make sure the temperature is correct before offering it to your little one. Store any unused food in the refridgerator and consume within 24 hours. Please note that we do not recommend using a microwave as the food could be overheated.

How should I store Mother Nurture baby food?

Do any of Mother Nurture baby foods contain allergens?

Yes, the following recipes contain ingredients that may cause an allergic reaction:
Mama’s Secret Recipe, Doodhi Delight and Staple - Cows Ghee

Goldies Perfect Porridge and Baby King Kong’s Pudding - Cows Milk

About 7% of babies and young children have a food allergy which they often outgrow. The foods that cause allergy most often are milk (milk products), egg, peanut, tree nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts), soy, seafood (fish, shellfish, crustaceans), wheat and sesame. We recommend you introduce new foods to your baby one by one, so you can easily identify if your little one is showing a sensitivity to a specific food. The symptoms of a food allergy can be very mild and only involve one part of the body, like hives on the skin or be more severe and involve more than one part of the body and can happen within a few minutes or up to 2 hours after contact with the food. The best thing is to check with your paediatrician immediately if you are concerned.

We want the best for your little one. If you already know your baby has a specific food allergy, then please carefully read the list of ingredients on our Mother Nurture baby food label to ensure that ingredient is not listed.

Do you test your products?

Yes, we do. At Mother Nurture, we apply a range of protective protocols both in our facility and for our suppliers. All ingredients meet specific standards and our quality assurance team analyse each batch to ensure our strict standards are met. Every single cup that leaves our facility has been checked using mechanical and magnetic sieves plus inline metal detectors. Our testing protocols exceed FSSAI standards and guidelines so be assured that we have taken every precaution to ensure a safe and healthy baby food for your little one.

How can 100% natural products be shelf stable?

Mother Nurture uses conventional thermal processing techniques which are effective methods for preventing microbial spoilage, while the cup remains sealed. Once opened, the contents should be consumed immediately and any unused portion covered, refrigerated and used within the next 24 hours.

Do Mother Nurture baby foods contain lead?

No, it does not. We test for the presence of a range of heavy metals including lead and hold our suppliers to the same strict audited standards.

Does Mother Nurture packaging contain BPA or phthalates?

No, our packaging does not contain BPA or phthalates.

In regards to Covid-19, is it safe to touch the outer packaging?

The WHO and CDC have stated that the likelihood of the COVID-19 virus contaminating cardboard or other shipping containers is low. If you have any concerns, either leave the closed package outside in a cool, dry place for 24 hours or simply disinfect the outer package with a disinfectant spray or sanitizer.
